Advantage Yacht Sales Staff
Jack Wasson has spent 40 years sailing the waters of the northeast. He has owned a sailboat for 30 years, starting with a Cape Dory 19 which he cruised throughout Cape Cod Bay.
Jack co-founded Advantage Yacht Sales with Doug in 2007. Jack brings expertise in both sales and marketing. He spent 22 years in the advertising industry as an executive at Arnold Advertising, where he lead the regional McDonald’s campaign. He has spent the last 10 years close to the water, as Sales Manager of a yacht dealership in Massachusetts. He has a joint degree from Syracuse University and the Cox Business School.
Jack lives in Newburyport, MA with his wife Lisa, a professional caterer. He is also the proud father of 3 extraordinary children – Jennifer, Fletcher, and MacKenzie.
Doug Giuliana loves sailing. Doug was introduced to sailing by his wife Michelle when they went sailing on the Charles River in Boston. The joy of finding the wind and making the boat go fast was all Doug needed to become instantly addicted. Little did he know that sailing would become his hobby, passion, and career.
Doug co-founded Advantage Yacht Sales with Jack, providing the business leadership and operations management to complement Jack’s expertise in sales and marketing. Doug received his MBA from Babson College in 2005, with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. Doug first entered the marine industry in 2004 when he founded SailTime Boston, which offers fractional memberships in new cruising sail and power yachts. Most recently, in 2008 Doug co-founded Black Rock Sailing School in Boston, MA to offer a superior learning environment for new and experience sailors.
Doug continues to sail with his wife as well as his young daughter Lauren, who loves to take the helm, can tie a bowline, and knows that there are no blue buoys.
Will grew up in New Jersey on Barnegat Bay, with his father teaching him the rules of the road and respect for the ocean. His first “boat” at the age of five was an 8 foot pram with a three horse Evinrude on it. He has been boating ever since, on a variety of power and sail in New Jersey, Florida and Massachusetts waters.
After 40 years in the semiconductor industry, it was an easy decision for Will to get involved with boating professionally. He finds assisting others in their boat purchasing and ownership experience extremely rewarding because he knows first-hand the enjoyment their new boat will bring!
In addition to receiving his Captain’s license from the Coast Guard, he recently joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary to help serve his fellow boaters.
Alfred abandoned a California advertising career and ran away to teach diving and run charter boats in the US and British Virgin Islands. His real-life experiences and insight from living aboard for nine years has proven quite valuable to AYS customers.
Alfred Since returning to the states, he has been selling new and used power and sailboats including such fine brands as Beneteau, Jeanneau, World Cat, Key West and Fountaine Pajot. Alfred has had a USCG masters license for 24 years, with sailing and towing endorsements.
He is married with two young adult children. His wife, Ellen, parlayed her background in coral reef research into a career teaching science to 6th graders. Their kids are studying towards careers in marine science at the New College of Florida and Essex Tech.
Mike is finally able to indulge his love for water after a 28-year career as a firefighter in Northern California.
His sailing career ranges from Maine to the Grenadines. From racing on San Francisco Bay to cruising the eastern Mediterranean.
Mike is married to Sarah, a social worker who works with special needs children. Together they have two ridiculously accomplished kids and split time between homes in Massachusetts and Maine.
Tom Chicoine leads the service department, responsible for all new boat commissioning, electronics installations, repairs, and warranty. Tom has been a Raymarine Certified Technician since 2005 and has completed repair classes with multiple manufacturers. He can work on both 12V and 110V systems, perform carpentry, repair plumbing, rig sailboats, maintain diesel engines, and make you laugh. His pet peeve is sitting still. Tom is a former New Hampshire firefighter.
